The members of Harbour Breton Minor Hockey program held their annual closeout party on June 11 to pass out a number of awards and to express a sincere thanks to the many individuals who helped make the 2011-2012 season such a success.
Georgina Ollerhead, the president of the HBMH group, thanked the coaching personnel, the parents, her executive and the fundraising committee for making the past year such a huge success.
Ollerhead said, “In order to have a successful program, we need the strong support of everyone involved from the parents to the coaches to the fundraising group to the executive of the program. Everyone worked really hard during the past season in making the year so memorable for all the players involved,”
The 2011-2012 season was very special for a number of reasons.
The initiation coaches organized a successful jamboree, the novice team brought home silver from their invitational tournament in Lewisporte while the peewee division won silver in their intertown games and won gold at the provincial tournament. The Bantam group won silver in their intertown games and won gold in their provincial tournament.
In addition, the Atom coaches, parents and director put on first class intertown tournament that saw the Atoms winning bronze. The Atoms also won bronze in their provincial tournament.
Ollerhrad said that the HBMH program is already looking forward to the challenges of the 2012-2013 season.
