The way I see it -
Well ... this week I'm going to start my column with a very bold question? Okay.
How do you feel about homosexuals? Do you love them? Do you hate them? Do you just not think about it? Or are you like me and think that the people who are homosexual are just normal people like myself and they should not be judged for who they choose to love and be passionate and intimate with. It is not up to me, nor in my opinion is it up to you!
Anyways again ... How do YOU feel about them?
Well I am sure you all, or at least some of you must have heard about the Prom in a school in Mississippi have been cancelled. Big deal? Well, maybe not if the reasoning was right. However, the prom cancelation has made it all over the media. The prom was cancelled due to a young girl wanting to bring her girlfriend to the prom as her date and wanted to wear a tuxedo.
What do I think? Well flat out and bluntly said... I think it is ridiculous, gross, and obviously it is discrimination and that is WRONG!
What do you think? Do you think it is okay or do you agree with me? Or do you have your own opinion?
Anyways, I just really think that when you are a teacher, director of a school, or anyway involved with education you have the responsibility to be role models so therefore you should not be discriminating against anyone especially your students.
Homosexuals are people. They are not animals, they are not psychologically messed up, and they are not bad! They are human beings just like us. They are not any different. What makes you think that some homosexuals may not think heterosexuals are really the disgusting ones?
Either way no matter how you choose to explore or express your sexuality you are not a bad person because of it. You are who you are and no one can change that. Not everyone is the same and if that was so then imagine what a boring world we would have! It would not be perfect it would be boring and lame. I am happy we are all unique.
Anyways I just think it is disgusting of the school to react this way. They should have responded fairly and responsibly.
Seriously what is the harm of the young girl bringing her girlfriend to prom with her anyways? It is not like she is hurting anyone. She is not doing anything wrong.
So anyways I just realized how much I have written so I'm going to end my column now but before I do I want to say one more thing.
We are who we are, no one can change it and nor should they try to. We are who we are because that is how God made us, and we are the way we are because it is how we are suppose to be. If we were not supposed to be this way then we wouldn't be.
Always be who you are, even if it means upsetting others, because the right thing is always be yourself and not the person others want you to be.
