Work on an aquaculture in-flow wharf at Harbour Breton, which began in the summer of 2012, is nearing completion.
Melville Trucking of Goose Bay, Labrador has the contract for the project that is being carried out by Dorman Roberts Ltd. of Triton.
Patrick Williams is the general supervisor for the in-flow wharf project.
Williams said that bout 70 percent of the concrete work is completed while the rest would be done this spring. The fendering work remains to be completed, as does the wheel guard around the perimeter of the wharf. The mooring cleats or ‘grumps’ also need to be installed.
The project still needs some electrical work and the armor wall around the parking pad (near the entrance to the wharf) will have to be put in place.
