At approximately 10:30 this morning RCMP in Harbour Breton were dispatched to Jersey Ave. in Harbour Breton. At this time the Volunteer Fire Department and ambulance were on scene assisting a tow truck operator attempting to tow a non-operational mini-van onto a flatbed; whereupon the tow strap apparently broke and the winch cable struck him in the head area. He died a short time later at the hospital in Harbour Breton. The Department of Labour/ Occupational Health and Safety is assisting in the investigation.

The deceased is identified as 55 year old Ernest Drake of Harbour Breton.

The investigation is continuing.

First of all,my sympathies to the family of this gentleman. However, the grammer in this story is brutal. It sounds like the volunteer fire department and the ambulance emt's were helping the tow-truck operator winch the van onto the flatbed truck when the accident happened. Please, how about a little basic editing and responsible journalism before posting your stories.
