On June 7th, the Kindergarten class of 2012 at Bay d’Espoir Academy celebrated a year of fun, learning and making new friends.
Twelve children entered the gymnasium so excited for this event. They took to the stage ready to perform poems and songs that they worked hard to learn for family and friends.
The students started the evening by introducing themselves announcing what they wanted to be when they grew up. Some wanted to be teachers, veterinarians, fishermen and carpenters. They performed several songs and poems all related to their theme “When I grow up.
All the students came forward and placed their favourite toy in a time capsule. They will get this item back in 2024 when they graduate from grade 12.
A slideshow presentation was done up and showed just how much the kids have grown and changed since they started in Septemeber.
Their teacher Ms. Oram stated how much they have learned and grown over the past few months. “Remember that each and every one of you has the potential to do whatever you want to do. Continue to work hard in your lessons and I wish all of you the best in everything you do.”
The diploma ceremony was a very emotional experience for everyone there.
“The changes seen in these twelve children since the school year began were just amazing,” stated principal Connie Willcott.
They then scattered throughout the crowd finding their parents to present them with a single flower for all their love and support.
The students presented Ms. Oram, Ms. Coombs and Ms. Willcott with flowers as a gift of thanks from all the class for all their hard work and dedication. Ms. Christa Willcott began the first half of the school year with the students and was very proud to be a part of the celebration.
